Who we are
SolarSavingsMath ("we", "us") operates the website solarsavingsmath.com. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we do not collect
We want to be specific, because the industry norm is the opposite:
- We do not require registration, login, or an email address to use any calculator.
- We do not collect your name, phone number, street address, or utility account details.
- Calculator inputs never leave your device. Every calculator runs in JavaScript in your browser. Your electric bill, usage, ZIP code, and system details are computed locally and are not transmitted to us or stored on any server. Close the tab and they are gone.
- We do not sell, rent, or broker personal information to installers, lead buyers, or anyone else. We never have and we do not intend to.
What is collected automatically
Server and security logs
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard request data to deliver pages and protect against abuse: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, requested URL, and timestamp. This is ordinary web infrastructure logging and is used for security, performance, and aggregate traffic counts. We do not use it to build a profile of you.
Aggregate analytics
We review aggregate, non-identifying traffic statistics — how many people visited, which pages, roughly where in the world. These reports do not identify individual visitors.
Cookies
The site itself does not set tracking cookies and does not require cookies to function.
Advertising
We may display advertising to support the site. If and when we do, advertising partners (such as Google AdSense) may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and Google may use the DoubleClick cookie for this purpose. You can review and adjust Google's ad personalization at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of interest-based advertising from participating vendors at optout.aboutads.info. This policy will be updated to name active advertising partners as they are added.
Links to other sites
We link to third parties, including solar quote services and installer marketplaces. Some of these are affiliate or referral links — see our affiliate disclosure. Once you follow a link and choose to submit your information to that company, their privacy policy governs what happens to it, not ours. We have no control over and take no responsibility for the practices of sites we link to. Read their policy before submitting anything.
Email you send us
If you email us, we hold your message and address for as long as needed to respond and keep a reasonable record. We do not add you to a marketing list and we do not share it.
Children
This site is intended for adults making household energy decisions. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
California residents
Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
EU/UK residents
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our lawful basis for the limited processing described above is legitimate interest in operating and securing the site. Email us to exercise these rights.
Data retention and security
Because we collect so little, there is little to retain. Server logs are kept on a short rolling basis by our infrastructure provider. Email correspondence is kept as long as needed for the matter at hand. We use HTTPS across the entire site.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially — particularly if we add advertising or analytics that set cookies — we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
